xLVS-9000

12V Auxillary EV Testing

Accurately assess and charge 12V EV Auxiliary batteries and prevent critical system failure with Midtronics first product to include SafetyPower Diagnostics™. xLVS-9000 will be available for all workshops in 2025.

It is often assumed that an Electric Vehicle’s main battery pack handles everything from propulsion to powering internal systems but this is not the case. Like Internal Combustion Engine vehicles, all EV’s are fitted with a 12V battery, not for starting purposes but  to support critical vehicle systems and if this battery fails the vehicle is likely to not start, even if the main ‘propulsion’ battery pack is fully charged.

. The xLVS-9000 uses Midtronics advanced SafetyPower Diagnostics™ and its inbuilt 500A load to analyse the 12V battery’s response whilst under load. This allows the system to accurately assess the remaining capacity of the battery and check its ability to support critical EV vehicle systems.

So why should you use xLVS-9000 over using a standard 12V battery tester? Most 12V battery testers have been designed to test 12V batteries in ICE vehicles. This would generally include testing the battery’s ability to start and maintain the vehicle. As EV’s don’t use the 12V battery for starting and have larger, more power hungry systems to run, a standard 12V battery tester isn’t the best option.

Even though xLVS-9000 uses advanced technologies and algorithms to determine battery health and capacity, it is easy to use like other Midtronics battery testers Fitted with a crisp 5 inch colour touchscreen display, entering battery data is quick and simple and xLVS- 9000spowerful 500A load and heavy duty cables allow it to determine battery health in 2 minutes or less. If charging is required, xLVS 9000 is fitted with a powerful 70A power supply to bring the battery back up to the appropriate state of charge.

Mobility is a key consideration and for effortless transportation across your workshop, xLVS-9000 comes with a handy workshop trolley to complete the package.
